Epithelioid haemangioendothelioma of the lung: clinical and pathological pitfalls.
In 1973, a 10 year old boy presented with numerous bilateral lung nodules, diagnosed as histiocytosis X by open lung biopsy. The patient was treated with prednisone until 1984. In 1993, he developed severe pain in the neck. A biopsy of the spine revealed the same tumour morphology as was seen in the lung in 1973. Immunohistological examination of the former and present biopsy led to the definit...

Epithelioid haemangioendotheliomas are rare tumours of endothelial origin. They can develop in any tissue but occur principally in the lung and liver. Their usual course is a slow progression, so that they can be treated by surgery. In aggressive forms, no treatment has proved efficient to date. This study, describes a case of bilateral pleural epithelioid haemangioendothelioma that extended to...

Apeculiar lesion of superficial soft tissue characterised by fibroma-like morphology and an immunohistochemical profile consisting of CK+, VIM+, CD34+, CD31+/-, FLI1+ and INI-1 retained is described. The lesion entered into differential diagnosis with the so-called fibroma-like variant of epithelioid sarcoma, with the entities defined as ES-like/pseudomyogenic haemangioendothelioma and the rece...
متن کاملCerebral Epithelioid Haemangioendothelioma
Epithelioid haemangioendothelioma (EHE) is a rare tumour of endothelial cell origin that arises from soft tissue, liver, lungs and rarely, the brain. We present a case of cerebral EHE in a 43 year old previously well female, who suffered two generalised tonic-clonic seizures. Contrast enhanced CT and MRI brain showed a left frontal lobe vividly enhancing intra-axial lesion at the grey-white jun...
متن کاملEpithelioid haemangioendothelioma of the lung presenting with pulmonary nocardiosis.
Epithelioid haemangioendothelioma of the lung is a rare tumour, originally described as intravascular bronchioalveolar tumour.
